Track Finder

Privacy

Track Finder has no accounts, no forms and no cookies. It records anonymous page counts and nothing that identifies you.

Page counts

Track Finder counts page views with PostHog, sent through this site's own domain. Counting is cookieless: nothing is stored on your device, each page load is counted on its own, no visitor profile is created and no session is recorded. The counts tell us which pages and places people use, so we know where to improve coverage.

Your location

When you choose “Near me”, your browser asks for permission and then gives the position to this page. The page uses it to centre the map and sort the list. It is not sent to Track Finder, not stored and not included in page counts. Searches for a town or track run in your browser as well.

Services that load with the page

  • The site is hosted on Vercel, which keeps standard request logs to run and protect the service.
  • The map is drawn with Mapbox. Your browser downloads map tiles for the area on screen from Mapbox, which receives your IP address and that area like any web map.
  • “Directions” opens Google Maps, and “Edit on OpenStreetMap” and “Report a problem” open OpenStreetMap. Those sites apply their own privacy policies once you follow the link.

Facility data

Facility records come from OpenStreetMap and describe places, not people. Read how the data is sourced and corrected.
